One week : I have one week from thursday... - Healthy Happy Woman
One week
Yes your life will change,first......no more pan,second.....no more periods,l don't miss then...
Good luck
Hi, things will change for you, but you have to think positively and find and look for benefits, as Sue said no more periods, you also know you've been through the menopause too. Take your recovery slowly at your own speed, listen to your body, also take the opportunity to try and pamper yourself, ie lots of body lotion, hand lotion, let people look after YOU. How are you having the operation? Will you be having HRT afterwards? Feel free to ask questions.
Take care and best of luck. X
Yes I will be on hrt and I haven't had a period in 7 months do to my hysterectomy bur I don't piss that part
My Apologies I hadn't read your post from yesterday, but from my own experiences it takes a longtime to find the correct HRT, I'm 45 and had, had regular periods no pain etc right up till my hysterectomy, I went into surgery expecting to lose one ovary and came away with in my 'life changing' having had both removed. I'd hot flushes, sweats etc the first night, it was awful and went straight onto a combined HRT, which 'kicked in straight away'. My dose has since been increased 3 times in 10 months, and will be changed again after my next surgery (which im literally Petrified of). However I do feel and see the difference each time its changed with regards to my skin, hair, nails, and mood. I've lost a lot of weight also, the downside is my sleep and inability to rest. I've learnt to put myself first and try and use resources available. It's extremely easy for other people to say, but try not to worry, it is totally out of your control. I would make a list of all your worries and questions and ask them prior to surgery. Try and occupy yourself and mind as much as your physically able to in the next 7 days. I know its not pleasant going through what youre but I've tried to look at it, from all the risk factors that have been taken away from me, but I know you will feel isolated from everybody and thing while waiting.
Again best of luck. X
Sorry in addition, I don't think that the surgeons would be carrying out the surgery unless they could see the benefits for you. I had an Abdominal hysterectomy with everything removed including my appendix, so my recovery was 5 days in hospital, I was determined and very , luck that my consultant allowed me to drive after 3 weeks as long as I promised I wouldn't do ANYTHING else, I did t drive though. I walked daily no matter what the weather and at 3 weeks was doing 4/5 miles a day. I still gets very tired but do have other issues, with both my bowel/bladder. Ive adhensions and remaining endo on my vagina, my vagina is extreme,y painful but the vault needs fo be Recut. Is this an reason for your post surgery pain? It took me 6months to return to work, but I do do manually work which I'm still not able to do.
hope that's of some help.
X
Thank you and I am trying to stay busy and telling my self that the pain will be gone and everything will be ok its the only way I'm getting through that and the support of my husband he has been my rock through all of this .
