Psoriasis: Hi I for psoriasis can anyone... - Healthy Evidence
Psoriasis
For shampoo it is a matter of trying out what suits you, Boots sells several shampoos for psoriasis and there are quite a few on the market. Some people soak their hair in Apple Vinegar, I don't know if it works.
Eat a well balanced diet and try and cut out simple carbs. This is true for everyone not just those with psoriasis. Eat fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and low-fat dairy products. Also lean meats, poultry, fish, shellfish, beans, eggs, and nuts. Limit your salt intake. Avoid refined sugars and processed foods. Some people say you should avoid the nightshade family such as tomatoes and potatoes, I am not sure if this works or not though. Maintain a healthy weight.

Hi
U should go Natural!!!! Since I´ve done that, my life changed. I am using Castile Soap (which is made with natural oils like coconut oil,, oilive oil..) from Dr Bronner ) which u can get it in any organic shop or ebay.

I am also using after shampoo a conditioner mask with honey and it works really well.
The soap should last you for a long long time as you have to dilute it in water. I also use this soap to do a face wash ( mixing castile soap, water and honey) and it works really well I improved my hair, skin and PULS saving money eheheh .
If u want I can give you recipes.

I have suffered scalp psoriasis for about 2 decades but last five years was really bad, producing about a handful of flakes daily. Put up with it until trying T-Gel which is a coal tar based shampoo which can be bought from Tesco. Works very well using it twice a week. Capasal is another similar product. The lesions on my scalp virtually gone, but would of course return if stopped using T-Gel.
I have found nothing that great for lesions on my body. Dermatologist put me on Diprosalic ointment which does help but does not make lesions disappear just stops flakes & itches on body lesions.
Have tried many diet variations over the years - no coffe, no nightshades (potatoes etc), no alcohol. No changes at all to psoriasis.
Hi, try a new cream known as enstillar for body lesions. It works great
This product is the best for Eczema/psoriasis - 2 part system though. Moisturizer/gel used together. Link: exorexskincare.com/exorex.aspx

Hi. Try a sodium lauryl ether sulfate (SLS)-free shampoo.
I am a 68-year-old male and for over 50 years have suffered with a scalp condition that from my 20's has also affected my face (and, for a while, other parts as well). I was prescribed a steroid cream for my face and for many years used this wherever the condition affected me. My condition is not actually psoriasis, but has never been diagnosed beyond 'seborrheic dermatitis'.
At the same time I tried every new brand of shampoo that was marketed to treat a problem scalp. These shampoos would all work for a while but after a year or two would become ineffective. The best shampoo I had early on was a prepared by a hospital pharmacist after I'd just seen a consultant, but when I went back to my GP for a repeat I was prescribed was given a prescription for Nizoral and assured it was just a commercial version of what the hospital pharmacist had prepared. It never worked as well, and before long didn't work at all. It wasn't exactly the same because if nothing else, the colour was different (the pharmacist's preparation was yellow, Nizoral is purple).
Just 2 years ago I chanced to go to a female hairdresser who is a bit of a health freak and she uses only pure products without 'additives' - and for the first time in 50 years I found I did not have to shampoo 2-3 times a week just to control my scalp condition. In fact, I can go well over a week without any problem at all.
The product she uses, and which I now buy from her, is made by O-Way (an Italian company) and just marketed as a 'frequent hair and scalp bath'. It's not easy to find on the internet, but it should be possible for you. It costs about £15 per 240ml bottle, with dispenser, but it does last me well as I don't shampoo more than once a week now. It has made a huge difference to my life, actually.
One of the key things I believe O-Way does NOT contain is the foaming agent 'sodium lauryl ether sulfate (SLS)'. Everything else I have found includes this agent, including Nizoral.
I hope this product, or one like it, can help you though, as I say, my condition is not as serious as psoriasis. As O-way doesn't contain SLS it doesn't foam as well initially, but if you use one application and rinse, the second application should 'foam' adequately to cleanse your hair.
Hi ya. I know your post was a while ago but I wanted to send you a message as I had horrendous psoriasis (on my hands and feet ) the Dr gave Me so many creams that my hands became infected. The cream made it so much worse . I read somewhere to try natural remedies like fruit peel. I kid you not when I tell you that simple banana skin was a lifesaver for me I stopped the cream from Doc then started to rub the banana skin on hands and feet. It was amazing! It completely cleared up. Now when I get stressed and feel the bumps I rub it in straight away and I haven't had a flare up since x Really hope you get some help. I know how awful it is to have . Best wishes
