The man is a well known idiot who is also into Homeopathy.

Sadly he is also on the health committee, which is simply mind boggling.

I am sorry, if people want to go and bash their heads against pseudoscience rubbish, that is their problem.

But I object to them getting paid for by the taxpayer in the process.

He recently got 7 or 8 votes from other elected fools to try to make him Chairman of that Health Committee! You couldn't make it up!

I don't know whether to laugh or be horrified!

He should be referred to a psychiatrist. So should all the voters who elected him.

When it comes to Homeopathy, the truth of the movement is wrapped up in those (from the UK and other countries) who go to Africa to sell their junk as a cure for Malaria and AIDS. Personally, I think that makes them criminal.

And when it comes to Astrology - it belongs as a giggle in the Tabloids and no where else. I am on the side of Dara O'Briain and Brian Cox on this one - "Let's get this straight once and for all, Astrology is rubbish."

I know many kindly people talk about the comfort and placebo effect of alternative medicines and beliefs, but the medical members of my family are unanimous that in reality it gets in the way of good medicine and health and makes their lives and the lives of their patients much, much more difficult.

I take it you've actually studied it, or are you just calling it rubbish based on ill (nill) informed opinion?

Not so long ago people knew the earth was flat and anyone who thought it was round aught to have their head examined!

It is now commonly accepted that the 3 "wise men" in the bible were astrologers following star's to find Jesus.

Ecclesiastes 3 1-8

To everything there is a season,

a time for every purpose under the sun.

A time to be born and a time to die;

a time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

a time to kill and a time to heal ...

a time to weep and a time to laugh;

a time to mourn and a time to dance ...

a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing;

a time to lose and a time to seek;

a time to rend and a time to sew;

a time to keep silent and a time to speak;

a time to love and a time to hate;

a time for war and a time for peace.

There is no scientific evidence at all for astrology or any of the wonders attributed to it. Anymore than there is truth in tarot cards or the I Ching, though it was required reading amongst some of the more esoteric members of my family, much to their embarrassment now, many years on :)

I am not spiritual or religious in anyway, so any other interpretation holds no argument for me, whether or not it involved the Magi (all 12 of them) or not.

As far as I am concerned, anyone who would recommend astrology as any sort of treatment for a medical condition is acting irresponsibly, possibly dangerously.

Sorry.

I've been into real astrology and its relation to one's health for over 40 years. It gives great insight into health and difficult time periods as well as insight into disorders.....
