The Daily Mail, great supporters of the Conservative Party pitch on marriage, would like this subject, of course.

However, as with a lot of other research on marriage (like does marriage make people stay together longer), it forgets one tiny little angle:

Is it the marriage that is the cause, or is marriage the effect? For instance, are people of a certain disposition or who lead a certain lifestyle more likely to be the type of people who would wish to get married?

In research, not only is it important to ask the right questions, but it is also important to check whether any other questions would also fit the conclusions! :) If they do, you may want to quietly put the research in the round filing cabinet ...
