Calling All Readers!

This is our December 2020 Reading Rabbits Book Posting. You can post your comments and suggestions about any book/magazine/newspaper that does/doesn't have to do with any medical issues on this posting. You can mention about your favorite authors, as well. This posting will be pinned to the Pinned Posts for easier access.

I’m currently reading β€œRose Madder”, by Stephen King. I had started it a few weeks ago near the middle to the end of October. I’m in the middle of β€œPart 4: The Manta Ray” and on page 168. It’s where Rose is trying to go and get a new place to live so she can leave the β€œDaughters and Sisters” safe house. She had made some friends, but the rule is that each person can stay up to 8 days before they get told that they can’t be allowed to stay. Rose came there because she was trying to get away from her husband, Norman Daniels. While Rose is at the β€œDaughters and Sisters” safe house, she went to a pawnshop and traded her engagement and wedding rings for a painting she wanted and got that was on the wall. It’s the first item she can say is belonging to her personally after getting it out of the pawnshop.

When Rose was on the curb of the pawnshop, she was offered a job to read a book out loud to have her voice be recorded and used. Let’s see how this goes.

Okay, now to you! What have you been reading or plan on starting to read this month?

The next book to read after β€œ Rose Madder”, by Stephen King will be β€œ6th Target”, by James Patterson. β€œ6th Target” is part of the β€œThe Women’s Murder Club” series.

Hi I finished World without End by Ken Follett. It was actually quite relevant to today as the Black Death was central to it. A fantastic story. He has the ability to take you back to those times . A great storyteller. He has now written a prequel to the first book in the series. So that is a Christmas treat. Now reading the Booker prizewinner from last year Gurl Woman Other. The style is very different from anything I have read before. But it is really good. Not sure what is next.

That's fantastic! Glad you enjoyed "World Without End". I can't wait to hear how you like the "Gurl Woman Other". I will look that one up soon later today. What is it listed under (mystery, thriller, horror)? :-)

I took on the Goodreads challenge again this year and put down that I would read 120 books this year, at the moment I am 20 books ahead of schedule

Wow! That's great to hear! I'm not sue the total amount of books I had read so far this year, but I try to keep track of when I start and finish one. There are two books that I own that I tried to read years ago, but stopped and I've thought about trying them, again either after I get done with the "The Women's Murder Club" books I own already, or near the beginning of next year. I'll have to see what happens timewise. But, it will be done eventually! :-)

I've always been a prolific reader, it's been my way of attempting to keep (reasonably) sane over the years, I have been reading novels for over 55 years everything from Westerns, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Thrillers etc, at the moment I am binge reading cozy witch themes mysteries on my kindle just for some light reading

That's fantastic! I love to read all the time, but sometimes, my busy schedule gets in the way. For the next 2 weeks, I may get more reading done than I had planned, but that's because I don't have to do any babysitting until Thanksgiving or a few days afterwards. :-)

I have finished β€œRose Madder, by Stephen King last night before going to sleep. It was really good and I was very happy with the way it ended.

I started reading β€œHolly and Ivy”, by Fern Michaels this afternoon. It’s a great holiday-themed story. It was a holiday gift this year. The story starts out in North Carolina.πŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸŒˆπŸ“–πŸ‡πŸ“š
