I feel like I know a lot about what is healthy food but my trouble is portion control and not listening to myself when I am full. Anyone else have this issue?

Yes!! I really struggle with this π The part of your brain that tells your stomach you have eaten enough doesn't work!! Lol π
I now plan all my meals, and either cook enough for one meal, or for two and split it up before I eat, ie put into Tupperware box.
I have to say on the higher calorie allowance now recommended (I grew up with the old fashioned idea of 1000 calorie diets) I am not hungry π But I do prefer foods with maximum 'fill-me-up-ness' rather than rubbishy snacks.
Good luck π
Eating slowly can help you with this Your brain will have more time to process that you have already eaten, you will feel full more quickly and it will give you time to pause and reflect, so you can take more conscious decisions and not just eat everything there is without realising it
You can use a timer, chew slowly, but your fork down between bites
It's also more healthy to eat slowly!
That really interesting π I definitely eat a lot less, feel less hungry, without really being aware of trying to, compared to how I was before I lost weight. I presumed my stomach had 'shrunk' or it was due to less sugar in my diet, probably both π
Just eat healthy foods, you will feel the. Benefit plus it makes your skin. Nicer
