Welcome knithead.

I think portion control is something almost all of us struggle with! You need to take an active role in being conscious of your motivation to eat less at one time.

Here are some tips that have helped me:

1) Take smaller portions at a time.

2) Eat slower. It takes your body 20 minutes to realise you're full

3) If you're going out to dinner, don't go starving. Have a small snack beforehand and you'll likely end up eating less (and spending less as a bonus)

4) Don't starve yourself period! When you get to that state you are more likely to stuff yourself sick

Hope that helps give you a place to start.

Hi Knithead.

Two tips:

1) drink a class of water whenever you feel hungry and before meals.

2) as 4) above (by healthyeating admin)

its ok to snack between meals but make them healthy low calorie

snacks, this helps keep the metabolism higher which makes burning

off calories easier (especially if coupled with an exercise plan)

Its doubly difficult I think when on medications, especially steroids.

Wishing you every success.
