I have a insurance policy but get told that because I wasn't insured with them 18 years ago when the initial injury occurred then they are not liable to help me with anything, but I was only made aware 3 months ago of the underlying injury after my MRI scan. Should it not work the same as if I was suing for my injury, I can sue upto 3 years of getting the injury or three years of becoming aware of the injury. Does anyone have any advice ??

ohh its a tough one, i think you really need professional advice

i would phone the insurance ombudsman and although they cant offer professional legal advice they do tend to be very helpful

other than that, do you have home insurance? my home insurance includes lega advicel cover for all sorts of things and they will usually cover this sort of problem

If you can't afford legal advice I would take this to your local Citizens Advice Bureau, they should at least be able to point you in the correct direction.
