Hello Sunskip,

Thank you for your question.

In the early stages, the vast majority of brain trauma treatment in the UK is carried out by the NHS through its hospitals and major trauma centres. In the longer term, rehabilitation, residential care and care at home is offered by NHS or local authority services, along with a number of private healthcare firms, most of which accept NHS or local authority funding for placements.

Headway - the brain injury association also provides information, support and services to people with a brain injury, their families and carers.

If you would like to discuss this in a bit more depth, please don't hesitate to contact our helpline on 0808 800 2244 or helpline@headway.org.uk and they will be able to give you any more specific information you need.

Best wishes,

Headway.
