sah knock on effects
we would all like to know the future but i wouldnt worry about things that may never happen even though you maybe more susceptible with your injury or not ... make each day count .. if you do get alhzeimers it could be totaly unrelated .. anyone could get it and by worrying about it isnt going to stop it or slow it down if one of us gets it .. live life for now
chin up !
thank you formula my usual armageddon thinking
its hard not to dwell on things im convinced im going have an heart attack anyday ... lol but i keep seeing another day through ... i think we can all do a little worrying from time to time , sometimes its hard to see the positives but there are some if you look what you have and i have been through .. like myself i should be dead ... im not .. lol they said id never walk again .. i do ... they said id never get back to work again i did .. i mean if fate handed me some different cards i might have died 20 years ago and not lived or experianced the last 22 years .. so there is positives out of disaster and im sure your stroke could of been alot worse so theres some things to be thankful for .. you just got to see things in different perspective .. i dont claim to be a know it all but if i help i help .. from my experiances
sorry for the double post .. this websites murder to get onto today . so slow
Hi ncmurphy,
Thank you for your post. The advice you've had from your doctors, and formula's posts, are really spot on. Like most types of acquired brain injury and many other conditions, Alzheimer's is unpredictable and, as far as we know, can occur in anyone.
It is important to try not to dwell too much on this question; the best advice at present is to follow a healthy lifestyle and try to lower your risk as much as possible. There's some good information on this at nhs.uk/Conditions/Alzheimer...
Because many of the Alzheimer's treatments are most effective in the early stages, it's important for everyone to seek medical advice quickly if new symptoms occur. This general advice applies to everyone, with any new symptoms, regardless of their medical history.
Hope this helps put your mind at rest a bit, and that the prevention information gives you something you can perhaps focus on to keep your risk as low as it can be.
Best wishes,
Headway.
thank you my thoughts now what happens happens being pessimistic wont help moire chance getting run over crossing road
Think about it, before your SAH did you spend your days worrying that you might have a SAH? I suspect not but you still did. And you survived that. I always tell myself that I have had my share of ilness and suffering so I shouldn't get anything else now. There may be no real basis for this but it makes me feel better. Try not to focus on what might happen in the future just be proud of yourself or surviving so far and be sure that if the future does throw anything else at you you will be strong enough to survive that too, you've had plenty of practice xx
