New Headphones with no noise background

Little update. So hearing aids and white noise aids have never worked with my husband, wiped him out 20-30mins and basically caused more issues relating to managing fatigue etc... 4.5years later we have today for tester got head phones (could be disguised with hoodie up) it has back ground cancellation noise but can hear direct speech. Were on day 1, going to trial until Xmas then tackle whether hearing aids can do similar, though be fun getting him in such a facility though, he's still reluctant with environments .

In February his left hearing went all together, so reliant on right ear, though constant tinnitus in that one too. Feels promising these headphones. Not researched hearing aid similar to this yet, just incase.🤞

Hi I can thoroughly recommend loop earplugs, I've used them as required for home use, work, loud music in cinemas and entertainment venues and also worn them for short rest breaks throughout the day.

Been using them since March 🙂

Hope this information helps

Hi Nb good to read your update.

I hope the head phones prove to be helpful for your husband. Anything & everything is worth a trial if it can potentially make life better for him.

Time is passing since your family & ours lives changed. I hope the scale of daily challenges has become more manageable for you all.

Best wishes

Hi Nanapal, still the same, we continue to move forward but the same daily rehabilitation/ routine/structure with juggling work and home still the same. Which is good as it's our family functioning method.

Hope all well with your family and still moving onwards and upwards x

Glad there are forward steps and you are getting through - you have made that happen for your family.

We are all doing ok thank you. Son has had the inevitable ups and downs but we are having a good spell at present. He has been more alert and showing small improvements in his left arm/elbow and hand following splint wearing & regular 3 monthly botox injections. He has been referrred for possible tendon release surgery at Newcastle RVI expecting an appointment before March. Following a splint review this week he has now been moulded a hand splint for his right hand & will get a right elbow/arm one made in February. Will post update on this once he has had initial review with consultant.

Visited son this afternoon and following his gym session with physios he gave me a lovely smile - smallest of things but makes my day.

Onwards and upwards we go.

Take care

Reading this brings happy tears. This is absolutely amazing, it seems with the rehabilitation method, approach and consistently is making milestones and promising proposals. Family Functioning has been top priority, mind I nervously giggle I haven't got one handful of a consecutive 24hour of anything crazy happening. I can resonate with the ups and downs in a different way x

Forgive my ignorance, but noise cancelling headphones help with tinnitus?

Have I got that right?

Hi, No doesn't help Tinnitus but with poor hearing, tinnitus and environmental noises it has been difficult, it is a barrier accessing indoor environments, busy environments, so we tend to do things outdoors and quiet places. Were really still in trial and error, but these headphones good in what he can tolerate with managing fatigue, we've not had luck with devices. Just feels promising to share little progress and nice to see people sharing there devices. Its been an area exploring /dipping in and out for approx 4 years from first ENT.
