I was wondering if anybody knew if this type of scan is available privately in the UK anywhere? Also was wondering if there is any point really , even if it does show something.

You would have to ask your GP to refer you to a private provider. Is there any point? no not really because you have had a CT scan and it showed nothing. This means you are not in danger from an acute brain injury. A DTI scan would only identify axonal damage if it could find it. A DTI scan is only used to confirm axonal injury but there is nothing specific anyone can treat you for. If you have a neuropsychology assessment, a real test not an opinion, it would identify your neurological dysfunctions. So if you had a DTI scan and they found something it would only correlate with your neuropsychology assessment.

DTI is in the process of being accepted as a scan that could prove in court whether an insurance claimant has had a brain injury when a CT scan is negative.

To recover from a brain injury you would still have to follow the usual rehab methods if you could get or find them.

Thanks for the reply, fair points... if anyone can recommend a Neuropsychologist in the Midlands for PCS rehab that would be good.
