Thank you everyone for your kind words. I just hope what I have said can inspire or help someone else in my situation. I drank a lot because, I was a single parent with two small children and working a full time job. My ex husband was part of my drinking issues. He was an alcoholic himself, and abusive, but would not sort things out. We got no support from him, so it was just me and my two girls. Me working full time and not being able to have proper down time for myself did not help. My girls are now 32 and 28 and are doing very well, although they are slightly hurt by my past. I don't think you can ever get over what you do when you are drinking, because you are irrational, but I hope, turning my life around will help my girls understand and replace the bad times with only good times going forward. I hope someone takes inspiration from what I am saying, because it can be done, and you are the most important person in this life, because if you are not good, then your family and friends suffer as well.

Hi Myahen, you say you want to inspire someone else let me tell you you are an inspiration, it’s very easy in our situation living with a drinker to become a heavy drinker, I went the other way, and threw myself in work which was probably just as detrimental to my children as I I’d been drinking and neglecting them. But financially I didn’t have any choice, to keep a roof over our heads and food on the table, you are living proof that anything can be overcome.
