3 years ago I was on the pavement outside my house and got knocked over by a car, suffered a tbi and physical injuries, driver of the car was taken to court ,admitted liability and punished accordingly ( although ridiculously leniently) my car was also damaged as she hit this as well as me.
My insurance company took on the claim and have been dealing with my rehab appointing a case manager and various medical specialists, during my claim then my solicitor and case manager have both left and new ones appointed.
My care has been constantly stop start , when it goes well then I see 3 different people once a week and specialists once every couple of months and progress is being made , when it goes wrong ( lack of funding) then my physical and mental health detiorates rapidly .
I suffer with trauma migraines ( currently on 4 different medications) physical pain ( currently on 2 medications) and still awaiting further mri scans, dizziness, ptsd and memory/anger issues and extreme anxiety . I am unable to leave my house .
At the moment my care has stopped and no one seems to care , thinking I should forget the private route and go Nhs because all my solicitor keeps saying is we’ve spent xxxx amount and so have to apply for further funding.
has anyone any advice? I have contacted headway , they gave me the contact for my local group but I have been advised by them that they have a waiting list befythay come back to me

So sorry to hear about how you have been badly treated, to this stage. But you will find that you’d be even worse off if you had to depend on the NHS.
Our son ( now 34yrs) had an accident the day when the first lockdown was announced. Leaving him with TBI and right leg had a fixator on for months.
We weren’t able to see him for months because of lockdown. Even with him being in the profession and my husband being a GP also his sister too.
Still on going problems, all because of being prescribed medication that made him so disoriented and unsteady on his feet, (even after he himself and his dad saying it wasn't agreeing with him).
The doctor refused to change medication. Thankfully she is not longer his doctor. With this brain injury he is not longer able to read which is hard on someone who read constantly and is intelligent with 3 degrees two of which are masters . (Health physiology was his field too ).
Personally speaking as his mother, I think the so called doctor, she should be held accountable. If she had listened the accident wouldn’t have happened.
He knew more than her if only she had taken advice from a senior colleague.
I would not be having to write this.
I do sincerely hope you now will have a better team around you to fight your case.
I do think everybody who's had a brain injury should be checked out for damage to the pituitary gland. It happens after a quarter of head injuries and the symptoms can include memory issues (plus fatigue, depression, anxiety, loss of sex drive, infertility, weight gain, osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease - do get your cholesterol checked, at least!) Dizziness can happen too. Do google it, and if you haven't already been tested for it, put things in train. Consultants are particularly iffy about testing for growth hormone deficiency so you may need to push here. The proper tests are the insulin stress test, the glucagon stimulation test, and the GHRH + arginine test. Our charity, the Christopher Lane Trust, has more information.
