attendants Allowance

I am dismayed to tell you but my now ex husband is claiming attendance Allowance. He is living in Tenerife and applying for residency. I have contacted the DWP and told them, they said yes he can. I ask this question why can a man who walks 18 miles a week, shops, gardens claim from the U.K. when he has not payed tax for 50 years or so.. Yet a disabled person struggling to get PIP and lives in the U.K. is refused or has to appeal.. No wonder our taxes are high. No wonder the U.K. is in such a mess. A furious disabled lady. Liz xx

Hi Liz, this does sound bonkers. You have done your part in trying to correct this. But as a British national, I guess he is as entitled as anyone. To get attendance allowance he must be in receipt of other UK benefits?

Hi he gets his OAP but he is extremely rich . Also living in another country it’s bonkers when everybody is suffering financially at this time, he is swanning around it’s unfair Thanks for replying Liz x

Hello Liz, that must feel really very annoying indeed. I hope you are claiming it though anyway.
