Hi All

Im going through the job centre process with Shaw Trust at the moment, to help me find work.... (yes gripes about this but thats another time!)

long and short of this was I was pointed to a site (as well as this one! oddly enough!) that seems to be a reasonable fount of knowledge from both inside and medical perspectives and things that may help us as BI survivors.

sameyou.org/

This is a US thing, but also registered as a charity in England too for donations and funding sort of stuff.

Looking through it myself and find some articles and videos - such as their -"Same You - Untold Stories of Brain Injury" not only a reminder lol but also as a guide of things that may yet come for those recently afflicted.

Stay safe out there

Thanks DA, what an incredibly useful website. Emelia Clarke has done a fantastic thing here!

It might take me some time to tackle so much information DA but, from skimming through, it looks an interesting, comprehensive & very authentic website..

Well done to Ms Clarke ; I shall keep dipping in to familiarise myself with her charity. x

Thanks for the link, DA.

As someone with visual issues, the site is an absolute nightmare - swirly lines, high contrast graphics on every page of the book... which is completely unreadable for me. I'd consider avoiding it completely if you are someone who becomes ill or gets headaches with normal print - the book will send you over the edge.

There is a directory of services in the UK, so should you be in the above group and want to jump to that bit, it is here:

sameyou.org/neuro_recovery_...

I'm in Canada. Still good to know the site is out there. I wish someone would have given her some insight into accessibility instead of trying to make it look like visual branding and expensive graphics were the most important thing.

Thanks DA. Yes, the visuals did worry me some, but the overall range of information is wonderful.

Like Cat (above) I shall keep dipping in.

Hi All

Yes, erm oops! i forgot to mention some areas are not as accessible as other sites for people with visual issues.

ive also attempted this using my browsers reader function - but the site itself doesnt appear to have that option so even more strain. thought i'd check it out in case noone else had.

otherwise, thanks for the comments all

and Cat - hope this is a useful (even if a chaotic mess for some) resource to refer to as well.

Kind regards

DA
