Noise Reducing Earplugs

Has anyone tried these, such as Calmer or Loop? They are supposed to eliminate certain frequencies. They may work for those with sound sensitivity.

I use calmer and find that they do help. I use them in busy places, in groups or if I’m really fatigued I might put them in to watch tv, stuff like that.

I got a set of Calmer a couple of days ago and have been trying them out. How long would you recommend using them for before a difference is noticed?

for me I’m not sure it’s as scientific as that. I just use them. For instance I recently used them whilst I was in a motorway service station. I was able to go in, get some food and leave without too much bother. Maybe it was the earplugs that bought me enough time to do what I needed to do. Maybe I was having a good day. I do feel like they help a bit, but just to take the edge off or buy me extra time if you know what I mean. If I’m unloading the dishwasher I find the sound of crockery and cutlery actually hurts. They don’t do anything for that, I need headphones for that kind of thing.

Good luck with them.

Hi, I bought some Flare ones a short while ago. When I first tried them I couldn't make up my mind whether they helped or not but this Sunday I used them in church and it did make things clearer. Obviously church isn't a noisy environment (unless we don't like the sermon lol) but because of the size and shape of the building it causes echo and sound bouncing stuff. Anyway they worked for me this time so will continue with them. Hope this helps

yes I have the calmer ones and find they work great for me in the car and on the boat - make me less fatigued I.e. I lastlonger doing those things before I start yawning and becoming spacey. Also used them Xmas day round lots of people inside and they worked well. Have tried them at kindergarten as I’m a teacher and have found they don’t work as well outside for me but inside ok. I think it’s trial and error really 😀 all the best
