Helpful courier service?

Hiya, my dad passed away a few weeks ago. I've got quite a few of his affects parcelled up ready for collection but the courier failed to turn up.(Hermes/Evri).They have a customer support thing but it's dominated by robots & I've got difficulty getting through to speak to a human.

The council took the house back so I had to get a taxi to a relatives where I am now (Glasgow). That cost £60.

Someone phoned me from the company. I explained the situation & they've cancelled collection of the 16 parcels but only refunded me for one. Now I have no way of accessing customer support as the required tracking numbers have been cancelled.

I'm stuck in Glasgow with these parcels at an elderly relatives house.

Does anyone know of a courier service that has a good customer support? A human would be nice.

I'm trying to get them to my home in Wales, I don't drive & am on crutches.

Hi, I'd suggest DPD, they have been good in my experience. Evri, nightmare.

what a nightmare but I always find DPD reliable as well.

Also don’t rule out parcel force - I think they might even come out and give you a quote (at least I think they did pre Covid).

Thanks folks, I've decided to go with parcel force. They collect & even bring the labels with them plus its all straightforward. The post office have real people so there's help if the brain fog gets too bad.
