Has anyone had any experience with Askham Grove brain injury unit. Just waiting on funding. It seems this is where my partner might be going. It is quite a distance from where we live but I'll see her as often as i can.

Thank you again for the support and advice

From viewing the website, Askham Grove is quite new and modern so maybe explains why no one is familiar with it.

The Care Quality Commission have visited but not yet rated (may be early days). Their report, which highlights all positives, failings and improvements, is available on the CQC website. If you've any concerns you can phone or email them.

Any nursing home is a leap of faith so it'll be an emotionally challenging move for both you and your partner. But your lady really needs this continuing care if she's to be the best she can be and, sadly, your love and home comforts can't provide the specialist care needed.

All my best wishes for getting the funding, and I hope, once the transition is made, it will settle into an acceptable routine and result in significant progress for your partner.

Keep up updated.. Cat x
