I find that I'm having difficulty navigating this site. So, trying it out.
I was injured in 2015 and think it was suicide attempt. But don't know for sure, cos have lost memory now. Haven't worked out how to handle things yet, so making a start.
Nothing to say, for now.

Hi Radelagun. It sounds like you may need to talk to someone from the Headway helpline. If you are having trouble verbally communicating phone them anyway but write down a few things before hand. You seem to be ok at written expression so you may want to ask if there is a text-chat service for better communication. With this you will have a record of what has been said and if you forget you can refer back to it.
It does not say if there is a chat app on the headway main page but there is a facebook page and the messenger app could be used if you arrange it with someone on the helpline.
It maybe something for Headway to think about too, another form of communication with written 'memory.' Chat app. Just a thought.
You're doing really well Rowland by coming here and connecting with like-minded people. There's an 'Alerts' option at the very top of the page which will show the amount of replies you have. Click on it to see those replies.
You're getting there my friend. Keep at it you're doing great... Cat x
All you can do Rowland is point out the danger to health and the fact that the cost of cigarettes robs ordinary working folk of a better quality of life. You could try this --
20 of the cheapest cigs costs near enough £10 (& rising). So 20-a-day is £70 weekly. And after the 52 weeks in a year the total is £3,640 ! .........hopefully a no-brainer for beginners. 😲
I smoked most of my life 'til my brain haemorrhage put a stop to it. A few months after discharge from hospital I was shocked to find how my bank balance had grown.... 😵
Worrying about our kids is what all good parents are stuck with isn't it Rowland... x
My husband smoked for the first 6 years that we were together. Thankfully he decided to quit when he was writing up his PhD: he quit smoking and start running. Twenty-five years later, he is still a keen runner (in fact, he is also a keen IronMan triathlete - in those races you do a long swim, then a long bike ride, and then run a marathon. Mad!).
We have two teenage daughters, and we have never told them that he used to smoke. Thankfully they have enough sense to steer clear. Or they say they do, and I am fairly sure that I can trust them.
Yes Flumpy it was all too easy for us to fall for the habit in the 60s when smoking was viewed as cool and there was no talk of health risks (crazy knowing what we now know).
But it remains an insidious trap for many beginners who have no idea of its addictive power. It's 10 years on for me and still amazes me that I broke free ! Well done your husband too... x
Like others have said if you can contact headway’s main office by phone or email they will help you to find the contact that you would like to help you talk though your thoughts about the past .. just your words in here is a major step in the right direction .. this is a great place to start
