Hey people, just found this site, so trying a quick intro. My name is Rowland and I'm just starting to find my feet after a brain injury in 2015, I think. No idea what to be saying on here, so I'm just saying "hello" for now.

Intro
Hello Rowland and welcome. When you feel ready, maybe tell us more about your type of brain injury and how it impacts your daily life.
Mine was a spontaneous bleed on the brain 10 years ago and, like many others here, the lasting effects are fatigue, headaches and emotional instability, together with mobility and memory issues.
See you again soon I hope....

Hello, I actually have no knowledge of my injury, right now. I'm just here being housed and fed and there is no therapy going on. So, it's strange and I don't know what I can be doing. I just browse the internet and doze frequently. Life is very simple. I'm hoping for activities to commence sometime, because it's strange just existing like this!
I get it Rowland... my brain injury is a result of a sudden bleed and three months in hospital. I've no memory of the first month ; just slowly gaining awareness in a hospital bed.
But Headway is about getting & giving support since our survival and for our 'afterlives' and I hope we can help you come to terms with your own personal issues. I've learned to dwell on what I can do and not what I can't.
If you can manage to phone the Headway helpline you could maybe get advice on finding further therapy ; the helpline no is :-
0808 800 2244 (freephone - office hours).
Hope to see you again soon m'love.. x
I called the number you gave, so thanks. I talked to a woman who couldn't really assist and didn't offer any useful conversation. I might try again, but not sure what I'd say to anyone. Life is strange, right now.
That's a shame. I guess if asking for help from professionals you need to tell them you're not coping on a daily basis and need help in finding some quality of life.
Can you tell me what's getting in the way of meaningful activities. I mean, is your mobility OK. And do you have people to talk to on a daily basis. Or is it low mood which prevents you from engaging with life outside the home ? Sorry for being pushy but these things are important.
Talking to others here, on this forum, really helped me personally 'cause we're all dealing with (or have dealt with) the same sort of issues. Talking, if only virtually, can be a great start to lifting the spirits.
What sort of things did you enjoy before your accident Rowland ?
I had a small computing business and taught a martial art. I mostly enjoyed computer based activities and can't remember whatever else I did!
Lovely to meet you. I think you will find this forum very helpful and supportive as I have. It's good to have you on board. 👍😊
Welcome Rowland. This is a safe forum. You never have to apologise, you can ask anything, big or small, nothing is petty or insignificant, if it is in your thoughts it is valid. Most people come to this forum as you have, many come wanting answers, but soon find that their own story can help others. Everyone is an expert about themselves, always consult with a professional before trying, or changing something. Headway is a good source of information and support in itself as a nation wide charity that supports people living with a brain injury, and their families. Their contact details are pinned to this page.
Again welcome, and best wishes 🍀
Hello Radelagun and welcome! I hope you find this a useful place where you can talk freely about any worries you have, how you are feeling or just offload if you need to. I’ve found it to be supportive. I don’t have a brain injury but my daughter does.
Thanks for your welcome!
Hello Radelagun, my husband is survivor of TBI March 2020. I can only echo the above.
If I want to post something here, do I reply to myself?
So, is there anyone arround to talk?
