Hands hurt after using hand sanitizer

Yesterday, I used hand sanitizer. After applying the sanitizer, I got a burning pain on the back of both hands that has persisted. The backs of both hands look normal. What should I do to treat my hands?

I get pain from using alcohol-based sanitiser if my hands are dry or chapped. But it normally goes away if I rinse it off. If not I'd try using a strong hand moisturiser.
