Just lately my head is all over the place I’ve suffered with mental health problems all my life. Then in 2018 found out I have an AVM because I had a bleed. But now I’m feeling so down if I get a migraine my anxiety hits the roof thinking it’s happening again I’ve gone to A&E to be told by the doctor that I can’t have a scan every time I have a migraine I feel so alone at the moment and don’t feel I can talk to anyone about how I feel.

Hello Bellbells, how long do migraines last for,are they becoming more regular, do you wear glasses to take strain off eyes, are you drinking plenty, any monitoring /recording of migraine s I.e like around menstrual cycle (before, during, after).
With anxiety have you spoke to your GP , or spoke with Hradway to work on strategies
Sorry my toddler just work up, I've had to cut short.x
Hi Bell, your anxiety is understandable considering your history. The Dr is right though regarding the CT scan.
This isn't you over reacting, or the Dr withholding investigation. Increased anxiety is common after a brain injury. I would suggest that you discuss your worries with your Dr, preferably when the anxiety has subsided a little, and you can reason out what it is that is of concern in relation to what has gone before.
You say about living with MH problems, see if the Dr will refer you to a neuro-psychologist to try to rationalise your anxiety. Neuro-psychologist are different from psychologist you may have met in the past. They are experienced in head injuries. Because you have had MH problems before, it doesn't mean that you have to live with this problem.
The other thing to address is the migraines. Your Dr maybe able to look at the treatment you are on, but also may refer you to a neurologist, or the pain clinic to see if they can improve the quality of life for you.
Headway helpline, maybe able to offer support for you, they have their contact details pinned to this page. You are far from alone in experiencing increase anxiety.
I'm sure you may have the skills to manage your anxiety, it is just that recent events have hightened it. Remember that anxiety is a set of physical and psychological symptoms in response to a perceived threat, it doesn't mean that for you the threat is any less real, you just need support to get these threats into your rational thinking.
I wish you well 🍀
Hi Bellbells. Boots has given all the best advice ! Wishing you better days ahead m'love. Cat x
Hi Bellbells, I have BI and another Aneurysm. I have anxiety/depression/ocd. Like you every time I get a headache I think maybe clipped Aneurysm is re-bleeding or my brain is swelling or my other Aneurysm is going to rupture?! It's a struggle I wish I had the answers, but with time, deep breathing, meds, practical self assessment to see if any other symptoms are present, making sure people close to me monitor my symptoms when Im not well I cope, get through to face another day.
Thank you so much for the message it helps to know I’m not the only one feeling this way.
