Hi granny, I too have aneurysm, I have coils and stents in mine. I don’t have fibromyalgia, but I do have constant neuro pain, which is becoming more debilitating, having recovered from first surgeries and subsequent rupture, very well, now struggle with mobility, memory and cognitive issues. I’m same age as you too, I’m 65 in October, I wish you lots of luck love Alice xx

Hi granny64, I’ve had fibromyalgia for a long time and suffered a subdural haematoma 2 and half years ago. Not as serious as yours I know, but I’ve not been right since. My memory is shocking, plus the pain and fatigue has increased tenfold. Trauma can trigger fibromyalgia so with the added trouble on top it definitely makes it worse in my case. I’m 45 and struggle like I’m 90 some days, find a support group, loads on Facebook if you are on there, and maybe a local one too, good luck with everything lovely 😘

Hi Granny. Quite soon after my Bi (SAH) I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis mainly in my hands & wrists, but over the past nine years I've developed pain in back, neck, shoulders, knees & feet.

The foot pain is the most debilitating and after walking short distances (in ultra comfy footwear) the pain in toes and heels sends me hobbling home. Added to the balance issues I guess I look worse for wear (don't drink) .......but I refuse to be housebound !

All follow up appointments have been on hold since March 2020 but I'm honestly doubting the original diagnosis after reading up on associated symptoms of fibromyalgia, most of which I have. It's pretty much a minefield I've found. But I certainly do sympathize with your plight and anyone else's who suffer with chronic pain.

Take care m'love... Cat x

Yeah how do doctors come up with the fibro myalgia? How is it distinguishable from other neuro headaches? Is it like a migraine?

It's pain which can affect all areas of the body and organs Charlie, not just the head or gut. It typically causes fatigue, joint pain, headaches, sleeplessness, IBS and much more. x

I had a lacunar infarction of the thalamus at 36 and have just been diagnosed with fibro at 40. It totally sucks because the pregabalin is keeping the widespread fibro pain at bay but doing nothing for the neuro pain from the stroke. Its almost like I've been split in half and my left side has been run over by a bus. My health has gone downhill fast. Was going for black belt in kickboxing at 36 to feeling like a crippled 90yr old now.

Perhaps there is a connection. granny64, my consultant said he thought it would eventually be proved that chronic fatigue from brain injury has the same underlying mechanisms as CFS/ ME - which is only a short step to fibromyalgia I guess? Duloxetine, which is prescribed for fibromyalgia, did a good job of getting rid of my concussion migraines too.
