Wow,emotional..so sad,happy,grateful...the bad first, had to wear full ppe( goggles everything)OK then.they had banners/balloons for his birthday.very thoughtful and I was touched by it.he is more animated with actions.I watched him pull up jams bottoms, scratch his leg,and pull back down.I told him face mask was giving me headache he put his hand on my head.several times he pointed to me and his chest.obviously he was asleep at my last visit, this only the third, but it was a good day..travelling there skies opened with real heavy rain sleet, all stopped when I left bus/and the same coming home.fortune favoured me today,I am glad of it...
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY"!!: Wow,emotional..so sad,happy... - Headway
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY"!!
Happy Birthday to your son; may of been grim outside but brighter inside and within. X
Good to hear.
Hope its not inappropriate to send birthday best wishes🎉🎉 but every little positive must help.
Its a long haul but at least you feel calmed slightly. Keep us all updated as usual.

Wow D, your son's awareness seems to be building and you must be thrilled that he showed a response to your headache and signaled his love for you. And how lovely that staff celebrated his birthday. Shame about the full PPE but great that he saw through it ! Such promising news m'love ; I'm so happy for you both ! xx
Hey lovely cat,boy did I sleep last night!didn't wake up till 8.15 little socks was crossing his legs!!!
Ha ha...poor Socks, but that sleep was surely well overdue. It's a joy seeing you so much more relaxed D. So a happy birthday for you both ! 😑 xx
So,thinking of you and our mutual love of "show tunes"...socks has a " play date"with next doors grandkids at 4pm.I've found DVDs Evita, west side story and my favorite of all time..fiddler on the roof!showing my age now!got crisps, bag of sweets and bottle wine.they have space hoppers but I can see the hose pipe....happy friday😜🐕
A group of us from work went to see Evita on stage in Manchester in the 90s and the performances were amazing, especially 'Don't cry for me Argentina' which had the audience on their feet. But West Side Story (for me) is probably the best musical ever.
Hope your DVD of choice was a good diversion (and didn't make you cry too much). It sounds like Sox and friends had a ball ! Great post D and lovely to see you're getting some respite. 😐 Onwards & upwards... xx
Naughty dog didn't come home till 8 pm!chicken nuggets/ pizza doggie heaven..I watched fiddler on roof, cried all the way through it cat,I always do...xx

Socks has new collar.very good feathers and pom POM's.I'm not feeling good think cold is coming..
Paracetamol and plenty of fluids for a few days I reckon D. Hope it's not such a bad one. Look after yourself.
Feathers & pom poms ? ...bet he's the talk of the town ! 😃 x
Its hay fever, actually makes me sick,my tongue sore with the cough sweets...like you need it?
Many years ago, someone suggested a teaspoon of honey and 2 desert-spoons of Cider vinegar stirred into a glass of water as the best remedy for hay-fever. After using antihistamine for my son's hay-fever and no improvement, I tried it for him with excellent results.
He preferred the taste after I started mixing up a whole bottle full and refrigerating it overnight. He had a glassful before school and another after tea. It still works well 40 years on !
It's apparently an old established remedy in farming communities where farmers had to carry on working despite severe symptoms, presumably before the days of antihistamine.
Just a thought D..xx
Wishing your son happy birthday. It's nice to see that there are positive responses for your son and yourself. Rain once you are wet, it doesn't matter how much it rains, you can't get any wetter. X
How lovely for you and your son. A very emotional day for you which will have taken its toll, pleased you managed a good sleep. Here’s hoping this good day is the start of many more for you both. Best wishes Nanapal. x

Hi D we are getting along as best as we can. We have some concerns about the lack of speech our son has at the moment. We haven’t heard him say a word since March 14th - a new medication was introduced on 16th March Gabapentin to try and help regulate his day/night sleep pattern as very mixed. Unfortunately all it seems to have done is increased his fatigue and stopped his speech - seems too coincidental not to be medication side effects. Consultant listened to our concerns and agreed this medication did not seem to be agreeing with him or combined with other medication. They are now in the process of slowly taking him off this - 🤞he gets back to speaking with us. We are in Seaton Carew, Hartlepool so seems we are in same area. Still no further forward with nursing care placement as CCG funding meeting is still to take place - not even a date yet & proposed new discharge date is mid June. This waiting game is very stressful as it seems everything is left very late - but we will get the appropriate placement for his needs and don’t care how long a battle that is. Hawthorns at Peterlee does seem the best equipped for his present needs but any recommendations are welcome. Nanapal. x
