During the 2nd lockdown late last year and through the 3rd lockdown I have been somewhat lucky because there is a place near me that acts as a hub/support group and it is originally to support the homeless/vulnerable people.
Anyway, I have been able to carry on with my crafting at this place and also able to see some friends.
I don't always enjoy the crafting they do there but I bring my sketch book with me just in case.
My drawing skills have attracted the eyes of some people at this place, The Centre, and I have just drawn a picture of a dog for one of the staff at The Centre :).
Lola is the name of the dog.
Take care,
MJ

Wow that is amazing. Do you do dog pics for people. I recently lost my therapy dogs and would love someone to do a sketch for me. Thank you Claire. You are very talented that is amazing.
:). Yes, I think it would put me under pressure to do such a thing.I work better and can get things done quicker if I know that I am not under pressure.
If I was doing a drawing for somebody, I would prefer it if they said there is no rush in getting it done.
And then it would turn out that I would get the drawing done in a matter of days to a couple of weeks :).
You really have an amazing talent Matt. I was thinking of you the other day when I was looking at all the bluebells around my apple tree. I was remembering the lovely picture of bluebells that you drew for your mum
Aww, thank you Maureen :).My birthday is coming up on the 2nd of May and it is also my friend’s birthday on the same day.
She doesn’t know this but a few years ago she made a comment on Facebook saying that her favourite flower were bluebells.
I didn’t say anything but took a mental note of this and when I drew those bluebells (originally for my mum) I thought I could send a copy of the picture to my friend. I think she would like that :).
I have been going for regular walks in the area around my house.
We live in an estate and it can look quite purty in some areas.
Some areas have been vandalised by kids, which is a shame, but we have harebells growing around the estate, there may be some bluebells too but mostly harebells.
Bluebells are more droopier while harebells are more bell shaped and have pointed petals.
There are some council flower beds near where I live and they have been neglected for years.
This was stupid but originally the council decided to fill the beds with some soil, put a black plastic sheet over the top covering the soil completely, and then put more soil on top!
The plants that were growing (which isn’t a lot) must have been pretty strangled by the plastic.
A couple of years ago me and my mum went outside to those beds and tidied the area up, it looked like an apocalyptic playground :).
I got a craft knife and cut out all of the plastic. The soil underneath is rock hard.
Mum covered the soil with woodchips to help soften the soil and it has done some good but when I go out for my walks I usually scan the area for sticks laying around and I grab a handful and take them to the beds where I break the sticks into smaller pieces and throw them on top of the beds.
Guerilla gardening is what it’s called.
Well, the council won’t do anything about tarting the area up so it makes you wonder why we pay our housing taxes.
Personally, I would like to see the area blooming and attract a lot more bees :).
🎂 Happy birthday Matt. Have a great day on 2nd May.
Your drawings are superb. I hope you know, that you have evolved to become a true artist. All the best. Claire
