Would the hospital know I’d had a bleed if I’d been talking to them???? I think back to my accident and think would the hospital know I had a bleed on the brain as my hubby said that I was talking normally saying I was fine after my fall ???? Makes me wonder

Hi Forty-something. I believe you had a fall resulting in a subdural hematoma a couple of years ago ? This will be on record at the hospital where you were treated, and your GP will have been notified of this by the hospital. Are you doubting the original diagnosis ? x

Hi, no not doubting just wondering, as I have no memory of the fall or the following day but hubby says I was talking normally straight after the fall. So I wonder would they have scanned me as I had no cut on my head and would have been talking to them 🤷🏻‍♀️ Just something I think of from time to time. X

This is extremely common. I still have no memory of my admittance to my local hospital or the subsequent transfer to the brain injury unit at Salford Royal. The first 3-4 weeks are lost to me forever.

Any treatment/tests you had at the hospital will be documented in your medical records which your GP will have a copy of. x 😐

Thanks cat, it’s all so confusing isn’t it. It’s over 2 years for me now, only a small bleed but the post concussion syndrome is just awful. Hope u r well xx

When my husband sustained TBI, I didnt know at time his friend reassured me he was talking, talking to paramedics , at 11pm hospital phoned he was being transferred to Southmead, 7am next morning phoning around getting to southmead 11am still not a clue, sat down for an hour by Consultant told to say goodbye and call family.

Im thankful whoever promoted that scan and detected his injuries, were nearing 11mths now he has short term memory, hearing, behaviour, word finding, fatigue difficulties we are adjusting best we can.

On your original post you had a CT scan and subdural hematoma which the CT scan would of picked uk.

My memory stops a few minutes before my accident, and then I get islands of memory’s for a week or so maybe more, some very weak and confused, I had quite a few scans etc done, no memory of any of it, only know as it’s on my discharge notes!
