hypoxic brain injury

Hi - it means that the brain was starved of oxygen. Depending on the extent of hypoxia some brain function will have been impaired but because the loss of oxygen can occur across the entire brain area the impacts can vary significantly. My husband has hypoxic brain injury because of a series of cardiac arrests. His problem solving skills are impaired, he cannot read and write but he can walk and shower and shave himself and speak coherently. There is a huge range there and you need to talk to a neurologist to ascertain what the situation is. Good luck!
Hello
i have a hypoxic brain injury from cardiac arrest. A hypoxic brain injury is where your brain has a reduced inflow of oxygen via the blood stream. It can result from a number of different events...cardiac arrest is a very common one.
the consequences can range from very mild, to very severe/deadly.
