A fall down the stairs

I’m after some advice if possible please.

My son (he’s 34) fell down the stairs last week after sleepwalking since then he’s been sleepwalking more and doing strange things like re arranging his kitchen going int his housemates room and looking through drawers etc. Sending txt messages that don’t make sense but doesn’t remember doing any of this. I’m worried as he lives in London and I’m in north wales. Should he get his head checked?

thats a rather stupid question to ask he fell down the stairs, of course he should be having his head scanned.

I know but with me being so far away it’s hard to tell a 34yr old man to go and get checked

Hi Jayne, ask him to go to an A&E department of any major London Hospital. Has he headaches and dizziness?

No headaches or dizziness and nothing since Friday of last week so he’s hoping it’s passed I have asked him again and again to go or even to the drs

have you noticed any changes, mood swings, noise intolerance? etc these are signs of possible traumatic brain injury.

I have a TBI from a fall down the stairs, he needs to get it checked out.

Hi. Yes I would get him checked.

I have had multiple blows to my head in my lifetime and I used to sleepwalk in my teens and do weird things after GBH incident.

I have just been diagnosed with severe brain damage at 46 years old. I have lived in and out of trauma both physically and mentally all of my life.

My brain took a final blow to my head in 2012 and I have just been diagnosed. Hidden away behind alcohol, behavioural, etc. Problems. Plus PTSD from the RTC.

For me it festers and is not always noticed.

Best in my opinion to have a once over. Even getting the incident logged in med files, etc. It can only help even later in life!

Good luck.

Thankyou for your honest reply. I spoke to my son again last night and he said he hasn’t had another incident since Friday and he feels much better. He did say he was going to ring 111 back and ask if his details were still on record and go from there. I wish you all the best xx
