Making somewhat successful attempts at keeping fit, sorry to show off, yesterday was tough. Attending a fitness class a women was incredibly friendly; her eyes lit up at the sight of me! My response; well how do you tell an old friend that you have no idea who they are? There I was, apparently looking very fit and healthy, well for my age, how can you let them know you have an invisible disability? Help!

Why the need to do anything-plenty of people with 'invisible disabilities'.

I don't feel any need unless it could be detrimental to them or myself, even though it can be frustrating that people think you're fine when you're not.

Such frustration can colour all your interaction, you have to let go and only see it as a issue when it's important.

Totally understand. It’s a very odd feeling isn’t it? Especially if you’ve received difficult to deal with reactions from people when you don’t tell them and they come out and ask you. I think you have to try and take each situation as it comes and if the situation merits - then mention it, and if not then don’t say anything. It’s hard to k ow what to do for for the best sometimes. Good luck for next week and we’ll sone for getting yourself to a fitness class x
