Following the DWP's decision that I am fit for work - I am now going to protest!

I am still struggling with noise/ crowds/ memory/ balance/ unfamiliar places/ etc etc etc

I am starting with the Conservative MP for my local area!

Will keep posting progress.

Hello

Thank you for your good wishes

By all means make your MP aware of the real casualties of the Gov service to the disabled.

But you should also officially challenge that decision by raising a dispute with the DWP, the first step in possibly having your ESA reinstated at Tribunal.

Your MP can do nothing about your need to seek a Mandatory Reconsideration (MR) and then probably on to the appeal stage.

You only have 1 month from the decision letter date, for a MR request to reach the DWP.

Hi

I have no energy for an appeal - I am back in hospital on the 22 oct to have the second aneurysm coiled -I assume they will then put me back on sick.

You could have done without the stress of this then but yes new medical condition on to new benefit claim.

In fact you can make a new claim whilst in hospital, it's worth asking if a advice service comes in to offer advice and practical support to patients.

Have you already had a tribunal? I won my appeal on all the reasons you have given above. Headway helped by going with me and by introducing me to someone at a local advice centre who knew the disabilityvhandbook inside out.

Go for it and good luck. Although I don't understand why a conservative? It's their idea. I had help with the first 4 applications that were thrown out and put in for a tribunal where I was successful. Dave

Whilst I would have asked the same question as it's a Conservative MP, however in my experience they can be outraged about how legislation actually works and of course they have the seat of power to effect change.

Morning Sealiphone. Point taken but it maybe that I am more labour than Tory, and I think I've been since being able to vote in 1972. I only was awarded PIP by the tribunal. After 4 attempts and getting nowhere I did it alone. It's not the Tory MP I am against but the system . Dave

I'm on the barricade standing beside you, pass the banner. Way back the agency I worked for groaned when our very helpful Labour MP was replaced by a Conservative MP.

What we found was someone who was just as outraged but had more influence, we were very surprised, however he obviously didn't have enough influence.
