Well its been 6 long months and Kev is finally where he needs to be. He is in a fantastic rehab centre where they are doing their best. I, however, feel totally excluded and do not feel part of any if his treatment or part of his life anymore. Even when I call it feels like i am an inconvenience to them. I go every week to see him but he is still angry with me and blames me for him being there. He is still very confused and no short term memory at all. I just dont feel like part of the whole thing and even though Icall them regularly, I get told nothing.......#lost

I dont know how to advise you here. You say you bombard them with calls, maybe thats the problem. Let them get on with their work and just be there, i would imagine an informal chat when you visit and a more formal update once a week would be more reasonable.

Rehab can be long and slow, it really does depend on the location/severity of the injury and also on the patient.

Thinking back to my rehab we only had 2 formal meetings with all concerned, including family, before i left.

Now is breathing space for you, you cant rush it it’ll happen or not in good time.

Hes in the best place for him you said that, give it time for it to work. Not easy i know.

Hi I feel as you do, my husband has been in hospital for two months, but I feel so useless. They have said that he is not ready for intensive rehab yet, so has been put in a discharge ward temporarily! It is heartbreaking seeing the one you love a shell of his former self, with no idea if he will ever be back to his funny, cheeky ways!
