I had my tbi when I unknowingly drove into a tree after obtaining concussion from an earlier incident. I have suffered with remembering problems in the past but feel 78% better now, I am now wondering since I haven’t properly driven since dec 2011, I have had driving lessons to just to see if I can remember, which I can, but I’m now debating on the decision of to get back on the bike (so to speak) and was wondering if anyone else has had the same thoughts...

Driving with tbi
Yes. I have found I need to keep on the back roads and roads with less traffic. I stay off high density traffic roadways or just have someone else drive. Way too much movement and things to try to keep track of. The rapid switching is too much to feel safe to drive in heavier traffic areas.
Hi Becky. You need to get proper medical advice before you start driving again just to make sure you are fit to do so. If you surrendered your driving license when you got your TBI you also need to be cleared by the DVLA. Lastly you need to let your car insurance company know. I know it seems bureaucratic. But all these things are really important to protect both you and the public. When you start driving again attempt only short journeys at first and at less busy times. Best wishes.
how can you unknowingly drive into a tree? after your concussion you werent fit to drive and it wasnt just your live you were putting at risk, fortunately,it was the poor tree who was just stood their minding its own business looking pretty when a car driver decided she didnt like trees!!!
