TBI and infection

It has been 5 months since a crainioplasty and 9 months since the car accident where I suffered a TBI and stroke. A couple of weeks ago, I spent 4 days in the hospital with a serious urrinary tract infection. Am wondering if it is related to the TBI. anyone have a similar experience?

I don't know the answer to that but I do know that urinary tract infections are very common. Are you drinking enough?

Being stuck in a hospital bed doesn't help, but agree with exhausted wife.

I seriously doubt there'd be a link between your cranioplasty and a urinary infection Jackie. I had a urinary infection whilst still in hospital after the catheter was removed but, 5 months on, it's unlikely to be the case with you.

Sometimes when we're run down or stressed we're more susceptible to infection. I hope you've got appropriate treatment as, I'm sure you know, it won't clear up by itself. Cat x

Thank you. I was in the hospital for 4 days and they pumped me full of IV antibiotics.

Oh good. As exhaustedwife mentioned, fluid intake is important for this condition, so maybe keep an eye on your hydration to ward off future attacks. Best wishes xx
