Goodbye Lincoln ...For now.

Just got back from seeing my youngest daughter in Lincoln. This could be for the last time as she will be coming home in two weeks after spending 4 years at Uni there.

I have come to love Lincoln over the years ( apart from the hill) and will be sad not to visit her there.

It will be good to visit one day without ferrying food or cases there and look forward to wandering around without making sure she is fed and watered.

How shall has grown in those 4 years fom a nervous girl into a confident young woman.

I know this is not a usual topic but had to share how proud I am of her.....Oh and it will be great to just visit Lincoln in the future.

Feeling proud

Pax

I'm not sure I will miss the visits.

She's just finishing her masters in history. Then she's now decided to take a few years out and is about to start training as a teacher.

She is still adamant about doing her PhD though and knowing her ( stubborn ) im sure she will.

Oh kids ..What fun.

Oh and as for well done...It's all her own work. She was only about 4 when I had my accident so I take no responsibility for her success.

The end of an era Pax and no doubt an emotive time for all involved. Now the future beckons..........one your daughter has worked hard for and which wll no doubt give you even more pride !

And you've learned that Lincoln is a great place to visit from time to time........

There's nothing so pride inducing as our children's accomplishments is there. ✨ xxx

Thanks I know I should have let you know. It was a bit last minute to take some cases (again) over for her to pack.

It will be great to visit the cathedral properly at last. Even if it means the steep hill.

Will let you know next time we are there. It's graduation in January but think we will be there before that.

Oh congratulations to your daughter on qualifying Pax and big congratulations to you on helping to get her there! I remember the day my eldest went to uni so well, the dropping her off with the car stacked full of all her things and looking at the tiny little bedroom she would be staying in and crying all the way home in the car! It's weird how quickly the time goes from them being so little then turning into young ladies! Empty nest syndrome is awful but we have to let go and let them spread their wings! I'm sure you will enjoy visiting Lincoln together, without having the huge supermarket shop to do, haha, or the handing money over at the bookshops for yet another study book! Well done again to your daughter finishing her studies! xx
