The mention of the "Black stuff" reminded me of the "bad" things I could do many, many years ago. I once drank 10 pints of Guinness in an hour and 5 in the next and then walked home. But men downing pints to wash away the coal dust after emerging from the depths of the earth still remains a romantic notion, despite the dreadful conditions and loss of many lives...........talk about 'Unsung heroes'.
