This Amazing Brain Trick Will Reboot Your Balance!
Looks more mindfulness/meditation than balance per say, and her explanation of vestibular was well just plain incorrect.
What then is the correct description of vestibular? I'm not claiming that I know anything about the technical and scientific aspects of this. I am simply just trying to learn and feel better than I did yesterday. My experience has been that sometimes solutions get buried in all the medical and technical crap at times. My frustration is coming through, sorry about that. Really all I care about is did it work for me so I can feel and cope better post BI and hopefully someone else might get benefit too. I have nothing to sell.
I agree with you when you say that solutions get buried in all the medical and technical crap.
How I see it, and I know so many others will not agree, the government have over complicated life and most things in it.
I believe life should and can be simple, just like any other animal out there.
I said it before and I'll say it again, why do we pay to live on planet earth? Cats don't, dogs don't, bengal tigers don't. So why do we?
I am a simple person and want to live a simple life. Take me away from all of this over complication cos it is doing us no good at all.
Solutions do/have been buried by medical/technical crap which has fooled the public and continues to do so.
This is what they teach in preschool now too to help balance. We were advised to take time out of teaching to do this with the children every day. In education it's also referred to as Brain Gym. We were also encouraged to use this technique when a class began to get a bit rowdy or over excited! xx
Overall what she is showing is a bit mislabelled. Balance is a combination of many things, inner ear, sight, feed back from the feet and other parts of the body
The eye movement side to side is a key part of visual therapy for balance. Controlling eye movement and the inner ear are essential to good balance. Many people (inc myself) have benefited from having the Epley manoeuvre to reset the inner ear crystals.
The other parts of the exercise are to develop feed back from the finger tips to the head and eyes. We have all experienced issues with being clumsy, ham fisted or just lack co-ordination post injury. The exercises are doing, is to ask you to concentrate on a point, massage it to get the feedback,
A simple demonstration of eye training and then a more aggressive version

However, If the original video helps some people, then all the good
Thank you for posting these. More helpful things to check out for me and maybe others too.
Trying to find out what helps and what doesn't seems to be one of the most interesting and also frustrating thing about head injuries.
Whilst there is a lot of information and knowledge out there medical practitioners seem very reluctant to pass it on to patients or even be prepared to try different approaches if the first one wasn't of benefit.
Reading many of the posts on this forum, it seems that the majority of us have progressed further by their own efforts rather than under the direction of a specialists. Which is both a massive positive and negative.
I would suggest you continue to find out what works and doesn't work for yourself.
All the best on your journey
