Hi Harry

Just like us however our brain injury has been caused - organic, acquired, traumatic - it can change your social, emotional and behavioural presentation. As brain injury is often an invisible disability with no obvious physical signs, others mostly do not understand because you look ok on the outside. Lots of us experience friends and relatives no longer wanting to be a part of our lives because they knew and want the previous person as there friend and can't adjust to us now being different. Brain Injury can leave some of us more timid and vulnerable in our behaviour but others become more feisty, argumentative, reactive and up for a verbal fight and for some maybe physical aggression. Sadly you are not alone with the reaction you are experiencing.

Is it you who has the Organic Catatonic Disorder and amongst other problems suffering the troubling social consequences?

The hate you perceive may just be fear. Be beautiful anyway. :) Your thoughts, comments, feelings and ideas are always welcome here where you are amongst friends.

I read this yesterday and I'm still thinking about it: "What other people think of you is none of your business and the only person in charge of your happiness is you".

Physical assault should be reported to someone in authority - always.

I found this on gomentor website. "Causes of Catatonic Disorder. As with other organic mental disorders, the causes of catatonic disorders vary from person to person, but they all stem from a chemical or hormonal imbalance in the brain."

Are you taking a vitamin D supplement in the morning or gingko biloba? Are you taking a 5HTP supplement at night?

Dr Cass has developed a range of brain supplement products for those seeking an off the shelf solution. Also a brain recovery supplement program, two types of pills, one for morning and one for afternoon, one wakes you up, the other helps you relax and unwind.

It is important to manage your stress since prolonged exposure to the stress hormone, cortisol, can actually cause brain cells in the memory centre, or hippocampus, to shrivel and die.

Supplements can address memory loss and lack of mental clarity by providing the natural materials needed to enhance neurotransmitter production and activity, as well as blood flow to brain cells.

Best

Hi Harry,

Nice to have you join us here. If you follow this forum regularly you will realise that in this place you are among friends who understand. Have you spoken to the folks at Headway, they may be able to arrange some counselling for you where you can talk to someone about the problems you are having.

Not everyone hates, assaults or ignores you, only the very ignorant ones. There are many good people in this world but you need to get out there to find them. Do let us know more about yourself.

Hello again Harry. I remember you posted a few months ago, and you're obviously still very isolated and badly affected by your condition.

This forum is my 'safe place' to come each day. So if you're up against hostilities and prejudice this is somewhere you can find tolerance and emotional support.

Are you able to trust us with more information about your health issues, your lifestyle and your 'take' on life. For example, how would you sum up a typical day in your life ?

I hope you'll come back and talk to us Harry ; please do. Cat x
