Today I made the telephone call to change from DLA to PIP.
I got the middle rate of DLA and ive been told middle rate is being scrapped.
I rely on my DLA to pay towards my rent so ive not a clue what will happen.
Ive claimed DLA since ive been 19.

spideyman Hello, I've just been through the same awful process & I would urge you start putting together notes straight away to help you complete the form. Seek support from Headway, your local Welfare Rights team (look for info on council website), or CAB in completing the form. Benefits and Work website also has very detailed guides in how to answer each question, but I couldn't cope with the level of detail they provide so my husband did most of it. It still took us at least 6 full days to complete (spread over a few weeks) & to put together what we considered a robust application. Be aware the DWP only allow four weeks to complete & return your application whereas I think it used to be six weeks. It's a truly horrid system & seems designed to confuse & trip you up (so even worse for anyone with BI & subsequent cognitive problems).
Good luck!
Best wishes

Hi I didn't have any problem with the form and had a very nice woman come and do an assessment - me in bed on oxygen, unable to drive, walk any distance, with memory loss etc etc. I scored just one point as my 'issues' did not come up on their scoring system! I have been advised to appeal...
spideyman with pip youve 2 rates 8 and above lower rate 13 and above higher rate.
i think you may find that if they decide your still entitled to it, middle rate dla is the same as lower rate pip
