I'm hoping that means you are all well and that I've not been blocked from reading posts!!! Hahaha!!! Or if it's a game of hide and seek I'm def not winning this one....come out, come out wherever you are and let me know you're all ok and I haven't lost my eye sight !!! xx
It's been very quiet in here lately....: I'm hoping... - Headway
It's been very quiet in here lately....
Hi Peaches, just what I was thinking. Well, no news is good news I hope.
I've just finished reading the book Where is the Mango Princess, that was suggested by, someone, but I can't remember who!!
Brilliant book, very readable, unputdownable at times. Made me cry when I recognised myself in there.
Having "nursed" my son through his second year assignments at uni, not an easy task in my brain damaged state! Made me think I could make a good stab at writing myself. Something to consider in the not too distant future.
Hope all is ok with you.
Janet xxx
kirk5w7 go for it. try a correspondence course. you could be the next chaucer spenser shakespere , go for it, whatever genre youre interested in
Yes I'm taking it no news is good news too! I would love to read that book but I'm not very good at sitting down to read, maybe I should give it a go as it def sounds like it's worth reading! I think you should give writing a go, why not! Nothing ventured nothing gained! I'm doing okay at the moment, still some bad days but not too bad, I hope you're doing great! Good to hear from you, take care and get writing! xx
You have to read it Peaches ; it really is, as Janet says, 'unputdownable' !!
The scene on the picture you've posted looks just like the place I've been for the weekend BTW.
Oh, and love the new photo ; you look just like I imagined. xxx
I will look into getting it then! That can be on my to do list!
Oh it sounds like a lovely calm place, I'm not jealous at all! ;0
I wasn't sure whether to post a photo or not when I first joined but because I feel at home here I thought why not! Funnily enough your photo makes me feel like I know you very well! xx
hi peaches bee boo!!!

Hi Peaches
Hey I'm here too having made a pig of myself in the sunshine yesterday. Staying in and cool today.
It does tend to be a bit quieter when we have great weather like the last few days and before it gets too hot.
You really haven't lost your sight.
Enjoy the weather while we have it.
Love n hugs
Xoxo
Hi Peaches,
Just to let you know, you haven't lost your sight or site... Website :).
I don't come onto this forum as much as I used to, probably because I have got a little busier now and helping out with my local Headway.
I am in the middle of drawing a couple of pictures at the moment and one of those pictures I will be sending to RandomPhantoms :).
The other drawing my auntie wanted me to draw because she and my uncle spent a little holiday in Wareham and the place they stayed at was lovely. The people who owned the cottage were lovely and as a thank you gift they want to send a picture to them which I am in the middle of drawing :).
By the way, is your spouse known as 'Cream' :). Peaches and cream... Had to be done :).
Take care,
MJ
Good to hear you're keeping yourself busier these days, that's always a great thing!
I'm sure Random will love your picture and the people who owned the cottage will be thrilled! I'm not much of an artist, match stalk men and match stalk cats and dogs are my limits to be honest but I do appreciate others talents.
I'll run that nickname by my husband tonight and see what he says!
You take care too Matt!
Nice to hear from you, glad my eyes are fine and I've not been blocked!
Take care and enjoy the weather if it's agreeing with you!
xx
Peaches ? Blocked ?.......................Never !! As you know I've been to a nature reserve in York for the weekend so slightly 'incommunicado' !
I suspect others have also been taking advantage of the lovely weather too (hope that includes you). xxx
Yes I've just been having a nice quiet time too! xx
It's another beautiful day here again. Think I'll just potter today.
On the way back from York we took a detour to Harrogate and ended up constructing a fence and gate across the driveway at my pal's mum's house.
Her other son bought her a little dog which kept escaping, but fortunately there was enough timber in the garage to do the job, and plenty of fence paint.
So we got home to Manchester very late............and very tired !
Is it glorious weather where you are Peaches ? xxx
You're post is making me wonder if stopping by in Harrogate has made you think about having a little dog???
I bet you are tired, take it easy today and tomorrow.
Weather okay today but I'm preferring being indoors for some reason, not like me at all, it must be my body telling me something! xx
Follow your body's instincts is a good plan. I'm doing just that myself today. The washing's blowing on the line and I've watered all my drooping plants, so now headed for a blissfully inactive afternoon.
I'd love a dog of my own (ideally a rescue Border Terrier) but there are periods when I'm totally out of action, which wouldn't be fair to the animal. So I compensate with talking to every pooch I encounter.
I've lost count of the times I've missed the ball when playing footie in the park with my grandson because I've been beguiled by a passing canine, and owners are always happy to talk about their pets ! xxx
Yes noticed that myself about the quiet thing. We are all out and about and not stuck in fingers tapping on the keyboards.
Hope everyone has a fantastic Tuesday. Nick Xx
It is lovely to think that we are all able to take advantage of the sun and the break to get out and about and see family and friends. But Peaches lovely post also had a valid message for us all - I for one ended up in bed at 8pm last night after all the rampant socialising (two boys at home full time for 3 days so far, plus friends over for tea yesterday) left me completely done in! Ah well, only another 6 days of hols left before I get some proper quiet time again...
Howdy doody!
Best wishes
The Poet Baroneate
I suspect it comes in waves as people drop away, forums naturally have a turn over, look at old posts and there are folks who havent posted for many years
Hi peaches2 , Your post made me smile. ☺ I've also been out and about the past couple of weeks. I've been raising a few chickens since last year and now watching the next little generation grow. 🐥 I absolutely love my Buff Orpingtons, they are such a friendly breed and my older girls even know their names. 😀
I've also been writing a lot of poetry. I normally write songs, but just before my first dianoses in 2014, for some reason I began writing poems. Recently I've pulled them all together and put them into binders for each member of my immediate family. I truly love to write and also hope to publish one day. I'm just not sure which direction to take. I have a couple of ideas on the burner, but I believe the first thing to do is to just start writing. ✒📋✏ Kirk5w7
Oh you sound so like my brother in law, he loves raising birds! I bet your girls enjoy watching them grow too.
What a great talent it is to be able to write and especially poetry, keep it up, how lovely for your family to read them! Yes, you should find out how you go about publishing, def worth a try!
Hi Waiting2run, my daughter keeps chickens, going to visit her on Friday for the weekend. She lives in East Sussex, we're in Manchester. Get the chance to see my granddaughters too. Can't wait.xxxx
Hi all, well I've been really ill since last wed with a mystery infection / pains / temp 102 that just won't go away. Feels like flu and my poor head isn't much enjoying it . Being so ill has helped crank up the emotional labile issues in a big way. Waiting for results of tests taken this morning thoroughly fed up - let's not even go there. But glad to see the notification of peaches post - and lovely to rewd what everyone has been up to. Still in bed but hopefully the antibiotics will kick in soon and return to me to my usual self.
Have a good rest of the week everyone - it's lovely to be a part of this group xxxx
Ps loved the shaving foam episode - I thought it was only me who did things like that if it makes you feel any better - I've spent about three days trying to complete a code breaker puzzle (in and out of being delirious which probably didn't help). One of the words was really troubling me - so I spent ages yestdsay trying to swap all the letters around to see if a different first or last letter would help matters. No matter what I did, I couldn't get away from this silly word that I'd never heard of before. In the end I left it as it was and looked up this strange word: 'Hereby' I wondered - what can this thing be? A hereby? (I was pronouncing it 'Herr eb bee'. I was wondering if it was a type of clothing / special piece of crockery / type of animal ??? On reading the dictionary definition, I realised that I'd finally lost the plot - it's supposed to be 'Here by' - l give up - something's not working quite the way it used to lol
Thanks so much hope the meds start working soon - I'm being such a wimp. After what's happened this year I've run out of steam with tolerating things - never been like that before. So embarrassing behaving like a babyin front of my family. I need to give myself a good talking to
Elenor, I'm so sorry seeing how poorly you've been feeling. Please keep your spirits up & remember how we all love you and wish you better.
Cosset yourself for as long as it takes...........these bugs can make you feel rotten, and hang around in the system for days !
Love Cat xx
Aw thank you so much - what a lovely messages. I can report that the horrible medicine has started working - so after a week of flu symtoms and feeling like the end of the world, it's starting to subside. No temperature this afternoon and getting back to normal. I was shocked at how quickly and badly the emotional labile returned with the illness. My poor partner deserves a medal. Thankfully just one big cry today and I'm starting to feel like it's going back to the way it was last week where I was starting to gain a bit if control over it. It's sooo embarrassing to be acting like a baby in front of your teenage children and partner. It's a great relief that they're starting to ignore it more now . I've just read the possible side effects of the medicine I'm taking and it says some people have reported having a black hairy tongue........please tell me this is not possible I really don't need one of those lol. xxxx
Wot !!!.........................oh please not the black, hairy tongue.
xxx
Oh my lord it has got to be a joke surely no one really gets that from taking a medecine ha Well I don't need to worry now - they've decided I shouldn't be taking it - so I can cross that worry off my list . I'm minded to write a post called 'anyone had a hairy black tongue recently' but don't want to cause offence in case it really does affect some people. x
Hi Peaches - bit belated !
Been a busy time for me - trying to do more work outside while we have the weather, PIP forms to fill in and a private physio assessment - worthwhile as the therapist has written to my GP with findings ( positive Babinski reflex , news to me ! ) and a recommendation that I see a neuro physiotherapist. No news on neuro appointment but not really fussed - would rather have some relevant physio/exercises to take away, if possible. End game is to improve and become more employable, if I can : )
Hope you are keeping well and not overdoing things ( as I suspect we all have been prone to during the wonderful weather ! )
Take care,
Angela x
Sounds like you have been a v busy lady! Here's hoping you get some improvement and an employer snaps you up!
I'm okay thank you, just plodding on!
Best wishes to you! xx
