Born and bred :) Aside from a year in Germany and two outside of the shire, I've lived here all of my life

Well, if we get round to visiting Lincoln, I have a cousin who lives there, and I was at a funeral there last year, I may drop in for a cup of tea. Xx

Fellow yellowbelly alert!

BaronC in reply to malalatete

And proud of it! :)

Are you still yellow, or now a deserter?

malalatete profile image

Temporary desertion thanks to uni and finding that bloke I ended up marrying but came back to make sure my children could share the benefits of the yellow waistcoat (which if you are born within sight of the Stump of course means webbed feet and no head for heights....). My boys are choristers at the cathedral so I am in Lincoln kind of regularly...love it!

Aah, I see. As much as I love my home town, I am in the camp that says the Uni has ruined the City. Still a lovely place though

Yes I know what you mean I have been amazed by its growth over recent years. Seems like there are aspirations to keep growing too.

Oh, it never stops. I remember my dad telling me forty years ago that where we lived back then was all fields when he was a kid. Now, all those years later where I currently live was all fields when my dad said the same thing. It's now actually quicker for me to get to Newark than Lincoln centre

Not exactly 'Happy Chaps' are they. Is that a large slice of cake he's holding, with a cherry on top ? xx

They're not exactly beaming, no. But then, they're nailed to a plinth :)

Hope we're not being disrespectful here Janet, but I'm glad you see a resemblance. Until I hear an alternative explanation I'm going with the Bakewell tart ! xxx

My wife is the Bakewell tart, affectionately known after the wedding :)

There's no answer to that x

I can imagine how it would work as an affectionate name but it's just so funny 'cause Sharon looks so lady-like !! :-/ x
