Swollen Ankles/Feet

My feet and ankles are resembling the Elephant mans (No offence meant) at present. I have had this problem before and a good rest and feet up usually sorted it out. But this time no joy and they have been like this for about 4 days now. Any advice would be appreciated

A trip to the Doc sounds in order.

My wife had a similar issue and doc sorted it but I won't say what she had to do because may not suit what the actual problem or underlying cause is for you.

Putting my feet up at home is always dangerous, usually when the wife catches me doing it when I should be doing my chores ;-)

I agree with Geoff ; see your GP Jimbo. Have had this myself during hot spells but yours could be something which requires medication so best to get it checked out. x

So often when we have a medical problem like ABI all our symptoms are put down to that. I had a similar situation with swelling of feet and ankles and thought it was due to the head injury. Stupid of me as I was a nurse..

I went to my Doctor who was on the ball and and diagnosed a heart problem. This is not meant to worry you because there are all kinds of things that can cause feet to swell, especially hot weather.

My point is not to let anyone put symptoms down to the head injury until investigations are done.

Will be thinking of you...

no offence here too...but, "elephant man" is one of my favorite movies.

I AM NOT AN ANIMAL...I AM A HUMAN BEING!!!. has got to be my fav. line in it too.

I don't like it when people treat ya like that.

I have a problem with my foot and leg selling up after a short walk; I asked to make an appointment at Doctors and got one very quickly after mentioning what the problem was

Recommend others advice regarding a trip to Doctors as soon as possible

Best Wishes

Swollen joints, ankles, legs are usually caused by lack of movement and dehydration. Walk around for a while (half an hour) and you may notice that the swelling goes down. Using an ice wrap of some sort can help too.
