I love this programme, not for the accidents but the kindness and humanity displayed by normal people like you and me. Ordinary people do extraordinary things.

Watching it now on catch up, it's in St George which is where I was taken too, assume some of the staff would be the same.

I find medical stuff fascinated any how

I'm the same not that I went there but how the medical stuff works and how the people deal with what they see. I was lucky to live about 1/4 mile from the area trauma hospital when I was admitted that was also a specialist Brian unit. Oh if only it was just my poor old Brian at the time. lol

Ever since I was in hospital I can't always watch these programmes they trigger something in my brain and give me the heebie jeebies in how lucky I was.

The people who do this type of work are unbelievable in what they see and have to deal with and never enough praise even down to the paramedics.

Even before I was in hospital these type of programmes really bought it to home what can actually happen with people and thinking I hope that's not going to happen to me.

Well they certainly got to see inside my head and discovered I did have a brain after all.

So if anyone ever turns round to me anytime and says use your brain i'll tell them I've got one, what's inside your head...:) :) :)

I agree, my experience really gave me a different perspective on life from what it was, for the better I'd say....I see clearer what actually matters I think. Other thing that's stayed with me is how valuable each and every life is and what a fine line we all walk every single day. I appreciate more and feel I take nothing for granted now. I always had this feeling I had more to do, it wasn't my time and I'd be ok.

Hope your getting on well

Oh David, you're not around enough these days. I wish you'd talk to us more even though you're feeling down. It can be uplifting joining in occasionally and I've missed you.

We're all susceptible to depression and we need to be free to admit it and stay in touch with others who care. You know you're among friends don't you. ;-)

I love it too for the same reasons. I'm struggling to watch it at the moment because everything still too raw after my sons recent accident. He's home and doing really well - but still very early days.

I can imagine, I try to draw strength from the people and staff in how they deal with the things they see and stay calm.

Best wishes to all of you.

Me too. My husband can't understand how I can watch it after being in hospital myself.

I love this programme although it pains me at the same time... I miss my old job so very dearly!

I still like to watch it.. I can quite happily eat while watching it too.. A lot of it I have seen and dealt with before..

I can only imagine how you must feel I'm sure tho if caring is in your nature something else will take your fancy on similar lines just don't rush anything, that was always my mistake rushing along and not taking time to enjoy right now and experience life.

I can understand that.

It just makes me realise bad things happen to good people, it's just how it is I suppose but also how amazing people and the human body can be.

Sort of helps restore a bit of my faith in reality.

Same as me I'm learned in Seichem reiki (I'm looking at doing level 3 this year) Seichem also taps into other elements..sorry if I'm telling you what you may already know. Did you know lol science has now 'proven' 15 minutes bare foot outside on natural ground (not Tarmac etc) is very healthy for you. I forget but either the earth or person has an extra ion which discharges either way to 'Earth' you when outside barefoot. My real passion is trad Chinese medicine tho and the associated physical arts. Our western stuff is starting to 'prove' what's been practised for thousands of years....sorry got a bit carried away there

i learned Usi Reki Ryoho and yes i do know about the benifits of walking barefoot, kind of intersted in chinease medicance, apparently my reki energy is very stong, iam lucky because our house is so old it was built on earth so thats partly why iam so earth based!

Sounds cool. My BI led me very much to TCM I had an interest before but never did much with it. I used to do ju jitsu, judo, mma, box, gym etc. my haemorrhage was in the cerebellum so my mixing desk is knackered. I had drains and got hydrochephalus and then ventriculitis amongst other stuff. Tai chi was suggested in rehab and I was so negative....what that thing for old people!! I did 5 mins and was hooked. I'm convinced it's why my balance has improved over the last 2.5 years. I have a wonderful teacher I must say tho. Very very lucky. My BI was from long term illness...dodgy blood booooo not good for contact sport but did I listen ummm
