I had a brain haemorrhage and hydrocephalus 5 years ago. I have a non programmable shunt. Has anyone had a brain haemorrhage/hydrocephalus and/or a shunt put in and since had hearing loss. My right ear is gradually getting worse and I wondered if anyone has experienced similar and if a reason was given. Thank you.

Hearing loss
I have a shunt in , mine was to drain abscesses and yes I have noticed my hearing is not as good as it used to be , I even have the subtitles up on a lot of tv programmes
That's what I have to do when watching tv. I first noticed it depending on which side I put the telephone on. Then I tried it with a headphone and watching a film on my laptop. Alternating which ear one of the headphone pieces was in. Overtime it has got worse and I struggle also in hearing people talking to me, easier if they're on my left. They are going to look at my last brain scan to see if there is a problem with the nerves and also refer me to an ENT specialist. After all I've been through I am so scared though if there is more to it and something else is going on inside my brain to cause it. Thank you for your reply
