Headbanging can cause brain injury.
eh! really What a Surprise (YES I AM BEING SARCASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
It explains why after smashing my skull and being in a Coma caused my Brain Injury-- Wonder how much the study cost
The link is for a BBC health article about how headbanging to rock music can cause brain injury, but the link doesnt work.
I've edited it by reinsterting the link, but it still does'nt work.
Sorry...
I guess in the long term it has the same impact as boxing.
I FOUND THE STORY JUST USING THE BBC NEWS SITE. VERY INTERESTING BUT MY GUT FEELING IS THERE ARE NORE BI RESULTING FROM YEARS OF HEADBANGING THAN HAVE BEEN REPORTED. EVEN THE 'MINOR' STUFF (NO SUCH THING) MAY NOT HAVE BEEN RECOGNISED BY SUFFERERS.
I'M SURE FANS OF MOTORHEAD ET AL IN THE EARLY DAYS HAD NEVER HEARD OF BI.
A lot of people don't realise that a brain injury can be caused by your brain "rattling around" inside of your skull. ie: in a motorcylce accident where your body goes over and over down the road.
Or in a car in a bad accident, same thing.
Your brain can damage itself inside your skull from violent movement.
Yes it can! If you do it the wrong way! I knew a guy years ago who was into heavy metal and he got brain damage headbanging and couldn't do it anymore! Why do you think a lot of metal fans and singers have long hair? Well even if it's not real long, The safe say to do it is the death metal way. That's called the 'windmill' it's when you headbanging in a circular motion from the neck so your hair looks like a windmill. And the singers crouch down and put hands on the knees to do that. I know cos I'm a fan of and sing that genre. 😊 You headbang using your neck and hair!!!
