Hello everyone. My name is Zhanna.

Dear HHD sufferers, I am new here and would like to share my experience. My HHD started about in my mid 20ties and now I am 39. And it used to be very seldom breakouts during the year. But lately it became very aggressive and I must say that I have constant breakouts now and very little time when my skin is clear. I've been trying Fucibet, Lotriderm, which don't really work for me anymore ( I think my skin got used to it ). It's been 2 months I've been taking an antibiotics and it calmed down after 1st month and now my flares up appear again. Can anyone recommend anything else to try to ease my pain ( underarms and groin areas ) ? Only my mum can understand me as I inherited it from her and I can share it with her. But I try not to tell her too often because she gets very upset and guilty for passing it to me.... and I feel very helpless not knowing how to manage my life around it ....😥😥😥

Thank you so much in advance

The number one thing that helps me, especially with under arm and groin flare ups, is soaking in a chlorinated hot tub. If you have access to a hot tub or if you have a bath tub deep enough for soaking, that might help. But the moving water from the hot tub seems to help more than regular bath soaking. It seems to wash away the bad skin in a way that doesn't exacerbate the issue like scratching does. It also prevents future problems once you've cleared your current rashes. I bought a cheap inflatable hot tub and put a TV near it so I can soak for a couple hours whenever I feel my skin getting tight and itchy like it does when I'm going to have a flare up. Haven't had a full blown issue since.

Thank you so much for your reply. Can I ask where do u buy chlorine and in which form ? From the drugstore? And how strong is it and how much do you use per each bath 🛀?

I've found Sudocrem antiseptic healing cream can help (it's used for babies nappy rash!) but longterm use can dry out the skin. Like the post below I find chlorinated water helps - if the outbreak isn't too bad or can't be seen (like armpits etc) I go swimming really seems to clear it up. At the moment I'm using coconut oil and aloe vera gel which seems to sort of be working.
