Brachytherapy for womb cancer

Hi my name is Alexa, my journey began in November 2021 with a heavy post menopause bleed which started an irregular pattern of heavy bleeding over the following time up until December 2022 when l finally had my first operation, a partial hysterectomy. Time has passed and 6 weeks ago l had the completion of my hysterectomy following the mis measurement of my endo as being 1.9mm when it was in fact 1.9cm

A change of surgeon saw me as l say back in hospital 6 weeks ago and my being referred to the radiology team this week. I am to have brachytherapy in the next few weeks and wondered how others had found the experience. I have consented to this as at my age of 77 l want it to be over and gone as soon as possible and the other option was 30 days of radiotherapy.

I am not scared of the procedure but wondered how people coped with the 20 hours of lying still and what tricks you may have used to help you through.

Thank you for any tips you can give, gratefully Alexa 🌸🌸
