I’m 39 years young and in May 2018 I had my 3rd Lletz procedure for cin3. Nov 18 I had a follow up smear which was normal and have been discharged for 3 years.
I’ve had a complete change to my periods and have an unusually large amount of abnormal bleeding for a least a year. I did mention it to colposcopy who didn’t really comment on it, so I thought it can’t be anything serious.
My periods used to be every 28 days, for 5 days. Now I’m having almost black blood with little bits of tiny blobs in them and this can go on for a week before my period actually starts. My periods are now anything between 1 days and 7 days with a cycle of anything between 14 and 35 days.
Last month was very unusual. I had the black stuff for 2 weeks which then stopped for a week and then it started again for 8 days until my period started.
When I had my last Lletz, they told me the abnormal cells were quite high up in the cervix. I asked if it’s possible that it could have spread to the lining of the womb and she said yes but no check on the womb were done while I was in theatre.
I’ve been to see the GP and she said it could be peri menopause (mum went thru menopause at 37) but FHS and LH blood tests came back normal. I then had to go back this week to be examined. She said she couldn’t see the cervix properly because there was so much blood but it was very dark meaning it was old blood. She’s referred me to gynae on an urgent basis but said it could take upto 4 months to be seen.
Does this sound like some thing I need to be worried about or does it sound like classic peri menopause symptoms
