Wee up date . .

4 weeks and 2 days until my scope. Still feeling dreadful!

Found out on Friday that a Rast Blood test that was done in September and was never reported, shows that I have a moderate allergy to gluten & wheat!

Still to keep going with challenge to see what the scope finds.

Turn these thoughts around a bit more....

They now suspect you have a problem from the blood test results...and the scope will confirm it...now eat plenty of gluten..ok you will feel ****....but its all in a very good cause...

That dear Lilac...is your future health.

Go for it!!

Go girl - I couldn't face going back onto gluten for the Endoscopy, so I admire you hugely.

One thing tho, you already know in your heart of hearts that you have an issue with gluten so you are half way to getting back on the road of recovery, regardless of the results of the Endoscopy. Just go for as much sedation as you can get for the Endoscopy & it's a breeze & just think, that day will be the first day on the way back to a healthier life.

I only had my endo in May and from the blood test result

till the endo (about 5 weeks)I ate/ drank all my favourite (but

alas gluten) foods.

Why?

Well because despite being quite unwell I did not for one

minute suspect allergy let alone Coeliac and was so relieved

that the cure was diet and no drugs or surgery.

For years I had preferred quite a low gluten diet because I

'blamed' indigestion or other symptoms on the poor quality

of shop bread or pies or cakes or takeaways or if home-made

eaten too soon (before they had cooled down)

If coeliac was the case I was determined to get a positive

test so I stuffed so much gluten and said goodbye meal

by meal to my favourite gluten foods. So there were

plenty of casseroles with pearl barley, pints of Giuness,

all manner of cakes and biscuits good bread etc. I felt

worse of course during this binge but was feeling so bad

anyway it was not a problem really.

So May came and my endo and confirmation of Coeliac and

goodbye to gluten ........ and many symptoms I understood to

gluten/damaged related........AND several I am so surprised

about; steady on feet which means stairs are better ( live in 4

storey house), thyroxine dose almost halved, can drink coffee

and so much reduced flinching when being given injections,

general vitality and lack of brain fog.

I still miss some foods but I will never eat them again as both

the instant and later suffering are so dreadful.

I wish you all the best for your endo and future improved health
