Or is it just that I do not know if the food contains gluten? Also why has the symptoms got so progressively worse?

If you are an undiagnosed coeliac and eating gluten then the symptoms will get progressively worse. I had terrible pains, wind, diarrhoea, rashes, skin peeling off, hair falling out, my body bloating and permanent nausea. As my intestines were so damaged then the holes being formed in them meant that molecules of food were leaking into my body causing all sorts of other problems. Once diagnosed I was on a very strict GF diet (helped by the lack of GF food in shops) I became well.

I too, felt very bloated and needed to use the bathroom at least 6-7 times a day. I cannot say that I feel entirely better, but then as I was diagnosed with IBS at least 20 years ago and I am presuming that it was really CD. As a type 1 diabetic the whole thing is an on going nightmare. But one has to go forward.
